OK, I have decided not to bother buying a new psu for the desktop for the time being, as I am planning a possible new build in the summer/autumn time.
So what have I done, I am now running Windows 7 x64 on my 2010 MacBook Pro! I have taken the hard drive out of the desktop and put it in a caddy as an external, so i have all my data safe.
I had an issue with the graphics driver as the one supplied by apple doesn't include support for CUDA/OpenCL, although it does in OS X, sound like apple nobbling windows users, to no avail as I have the proper Nvidia one installed now.
Installing Daz is so painless now with the DIM, I just left it overnight to download and install my entire Daz purchases, lovely

On the flip side I still have all the third party stuff to install, which I will probably do on a as and when I need it basis

So a lot of catching up to do it seems.
